Chaksam-pa Tibetan Dance and Opera Company was founded in 1989. Their dancers, musicians, and singers trained at the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts in Dharamsala, India.
Chaksam-pa means “bridge builder” in Tibetan. It is the company’s mission to preserve, promote and document the rich traditional performing arts of Tibet and to keep cultural heritage alive for future generations and to build bridges of cultural exchange with audiences and artists around the world.
