Luminawa Cultural Group are the culture bearers from Lubuagan, Kalinga of the Philippines. They perform regularly in the yearly Kalinga celebrations forwarding its mission to give more meaning to the rich dignity of Kalinga traditional wisdom, values and cultural practices.
At times when Kalinga tribal conflicts were constantly affecting the community, Luminawa (meaning “peace and well being”) was organized to develop and promote the rich traditions of Kalinga dances and music.
Luminawa headed by Cirilo “Usafe” Bawer recently performed in Switzerland to share in the common world cultural consciousness.
