Nritta Katha School of Kathak has been dedicated to promoting the North Indian classical dance form kathak since 2005. The school was established by Parna Basu, performer, artist, teacher and choreographer. Nritta Katha’s mission is to create discipline and to provide its students a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning and loving dance.
Parna Basu is one of the prime disciples of the legendary kathak maestro Pt. Birju Maharaj and an “A” grade artist of the Indian television. Her work derives inspiration from her mentor who has given a new dimension to kathak by creating bold and intellectually rich compositions in traditional themes as well as contemporary pieces.
